Dan Dashiell
Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer
Dan Dashiell is a Managing Director and is Asia Alternatives’ Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer and is based in the Firm’s San Francisco office. Mr. Dashiell is on the Firm’s Investment Committee. Mr. Dashiell is responsible for managing Asia Alternatives’ legal, compliance, regulatory and information technology affairs and is involved in portfolio management.
Prior to joining Asia Alternatives, Mr. Dashiell was Senior Counsel to BlackRock’s hedge and private fund businesses with responsibility for advising on all aspects of privately offered investment funds, including structuring, restructuring, formation, governance, marketing and client negotiation matters.
Before joining BlackRock, Mr. Dashiell was a Senior Associate at the international law firms of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and SEC compliance matters.
Mr. Dashiell holds an LLM in Taxation from New York University, a JD from the University of San Francisco and a B.A. from the University of California, Irvine.
