Founded in 2006, Asia Alternatives Management LLC is a solution platform for institutional investors to invest in private equity across Asia. The Firm was founded by Melissa Ma (former Director at Hellman & Friedman LLC), Laure Wang (former General Partner of Pacific Venture Partners), and Rebecca Xu (formerly a Senior Investment Officer leading Asia fund investing at the International Finance Corporation).
With its research, investment and client service infrastructure solely dedicated to Asia private equity fund investments, Asia Alternatives seeks to be the "partner of choice" for global institutional investors who desire to participate in the diverse and fast growing Asian alternative investment markets.
A core part of Asia Alternatives' business model is a commitment to have an open, transparent working partnership with investors to build their Asia private equity programs. This includes helping to educate investors on Asia, providing best-practice reporting and leading market research on Asia private equity, and ensuring dedicated, on-call investor service support.
The Firm offers investment programs that identify private equity fund managers across the dynamic and growing markets of Asia. The Firm diversifies its investment program by targeting private equity fund managers in Greater China (Mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong), Japan, Korea, South East Asia, Australia and India. By sub-asset class, the Firm intends to seek opportunities across buyout, growth and expansion, venture capital, and special situation strategies.
The Asia Alternatives investment team leverages its local presence, knowledge and experience to generate deal flow, gain a competitive edge in transactions, and create value post-investment. Asia Alternatives' currently has a team of 19 people across offices in Hong Kong, Beijing, and San Francisco.
Asia Alternatives is currently managing Asia Alternatives Capital Partners, L.P. ($515 million) and Asia Alternatives Capital Partners II, L.P. ($950 million).
